Job Summary

Registered Nurse Supervisor Lutheran Air Critical Care Transport
Full time: .9 FTE (36 hours per week)
Shift: days 7a-7p
Welcome bonus eligible up to $35,000!

The Supervisor, Urgent Care provides clinical and operational leadership for the day-to-day activities of the urgent care facility. This role ensures the delivery of safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care while supporting organizational clinical, financial, and quality initiatives. The Supervisor oversees the performance and development of nursing staff, ensures regulatory compliance, and prioritizes patient care needs based on resources and patient demands.

Essential Functions

  • Provides direct supervision to the urgent care team, ensuring adherence to clinical and operational standards.
  • Oversees and supports patient care delivery, including assessments, interventions, monitoring, and documentation.
  • Assists healthcare providers during procedures, ensuring all medical equipment and resources are used appropriately and efficiently.
  • Monitors quality of care, identifies areas for improvement, and implements performance improvement initiatives.
  • Organizes staffing schedules and ensures appropriate allocation of personnel to meet patient needs and operational demands.
  • Ensures staff competency by coordinating training, certification maintenance, and continuing education programs.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of patient care, including medication administration, IV therapy, and specimen labeling, in compliance with organizational policies.
  • Addresses patient and family inquiries and concerns, fostering effective communication and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborates with Materials Management to oversee supply inventory, ensuring timely replenishment and appropriate charge capture.
  • Utilizes and enforces infection control protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • 2-4 years of clinical experience in an urgent care, emergency, or similar fast-paced healthcare setting required
  • 1-2 years of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Proficient in clinical procedures and the use of urgent care medical equipment.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage staff and foster collaboration.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices, quality improvement processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and make critical decisions in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical documentation standards.
Licenses and Certifications
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support required
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation required
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required
